New government database support for landlords
Property management and finance platform Lendlord has launched a new Property Register tool that it says will help landlords in England prepare for registration on the government’s new rental property database, as well as help ensure they meet their ongoing registration requirements.
Registration on the new database forms part of the next phase of the Renters’ Rights Act, with a regional rollout beginning from mid-December.
The new tool collates information already held in a landlord’s portfolio to prepare a registration pack, flag missing details and identify regional registration deadlines and is available within Lendlord’s Compliance Hub. Landlords can then use the information collated to register directly through the government registration service.
Ensuring ongoing compliance
To ensure registrations are kept up-to-date and compliant, the tool also manages registration notifications, due dates and renewal reminders across landlords’ portfolios and alerts landlords when updates to property or tenancy information are required.
Aviram Shahar, co-founder and CEO of Lendlord, said: “Preparing for the new database should not mean starting from scratch. Landlords already hold much of the information they need, and our Property Register tool brings it together to make preparation simpler.
“Registration is only the first step. Landlords also need to keep their records up to date as circumstances change. The tool manages deadlines, notifications and renewal reminders, and alerts landlords when changes mean they need to update the register. It makes these ongoing responsibilities a manageable part of running a property portfolio.”
