Cordia adds 500 new homes to the Budapest property market

Residential property developer and owner of Birmingham-based Cordia Blackswan, Cordia Group, is adding 500 new homes to the Budapest property market.

Over 500 new apartments across three developments will be supplied in the most popular green belt and city centre locations – the 8th, 9th, and 11th districts.

The project is estimated to increase the number of new homes available in Budapest’s 8th and 9th districts by a quarter (25%), and by 15% in the 11th district.

Eco-friendly homes coming soon

Producing homes that reduce energy consumption remains one of the key aims of Cordia. These homes will be no exception as all three buildings will consist of highly energy-efficient apartments that will meet net-zero requirements.

Hungarian energy standards will be maintained across all apartments. The properties will be AA-rated, with estimations putting energy consumption at a quarter less than that of an average FF-rated property.

There will be a total of 850 homes in Cordia’s current portfolio for sale, with the company accounting for 15% of Budapest’s total new home supply.

Tibor Földi, chairman of the board of Cordia International, said: "In the first half of the year, Cordia developed 16% of the apartments delivered in Budapest, while 9% of new homes sales in the Hungarian capital so far this year were made by the company. We are currently working on the delivery of more than 1,140 apartments, and are preparing the construction of another 4,300 homes."

One of the new developments is Corvin Next, a 100-apartment downtown development that will be built on Futó Street.

The Woodland project will be located in the 9th district and have a large inner garden with extensive landscaping and private parking.

The aim is to create 257 homes during the first phase with one-, two- and three-bedroom homes that have garden access or balconies.

The 153-apartment Sasad Resort Sunrise will be located in the green belt of the 11th district, with easy reach of the city centre. Playgrounds, sports fields, outdoor gym, and picnic areas will be included for all to enjoy.

Deputy chief executive officer at Cordia Blackswan, Andras Karpati, added: “Cordia has been leading the way in Hungary for two decades now, providing an invaluable contribution to the new homes market in Budapest by investing in and regenerating under-utilised areas. With a number of residential developments currently underway here in Birmingham, we aspire to build on Cordia’s legacy and develop high quality, innovative spaces for contemporary residents to live in and enjoy.”
