Upon completion, the mixed-use development will provide one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. Within landscaped courtyards.

It will sit at the intersection of Great Hampton Street and Harford Street in the Jewellery Quarter.

In total, five new builds will be included. The aim is for the industrial heritage of the site to be reflected. By making improvements to the former brass foundry, furniture, and commercial, this aims to be achieved.

Residents will be granted access to a co-working space, a shared lounge, a studio, and a communal kitchen/diner. The apartments will also be a short walk from Lord Clifton pub.

Marcus Hawley, managing director at Cordia Blackswan, said: “The Lamp Works offers a unique proposition to modern city dwellers, providing quality amenities that are both practical and useful in everyday life. As always, this will be delivered whilst retaining the Jewellery Quarter’s renowned heritage and architectural design.

“The commencement of construction at The Lamp Works marks an exciting next step in our vision to revitalise Great Hampton Street and transform this key route into the city. Our aim is to create desirable spaces for the local community to enjoy whilst benefitting the local economy, and we’re proud to see our vision starting to come to life.”

Pre-Construction Director at Clegg Construction, Ross Crowcroft, added: “The Lamp Works is an exciting scheme in an area with a strong heritage, and Clegg Construction is very pleased to be taking a key role as this development gets underway.

“This is an area that we are very familiar with, as Clegg Construction has recently delivered Gilders Yard on Great Hampton Street, a conversion and extension of the grade II listed Ashford & Sons industrial workshops into 157 apartments and commercial space.”
