Help for investors – webinars to assist people through the crisis

Throughout the property industry, in response to the challenges posed by Covid-19, various webinars have been held offering top tips, guidance, practical advice and expert commentary.

Below are a number of upcoming ones with a property investment slant.

First off, Build to Rent (BTR) platform Love to Rent is hosting a webinar with UKAA this Wednesday at 10am, focusing on Covid-19 and the BTR market.

Taking place on Zoom, the Chair of Love to Rent, Peter Sloane, will be hosting the UKAA webinar along with industry experts from across the Build to Rent sector. 

The webinar will address the seismic impact Covid-19 has had on the property sector as a whole and analyse how it has affected development markets in various ways. Additionally, it will examine how society might change after lockdown, how the BTR market might emerge and what the industry can do to put itself in a position of strength once the worst of the crisis has passed. 

Joining Peter Sloane on the webinar will be Sarah Quinn, director of operations at Moda, Lizzie Stevens, director of market rent at Folio, Sophie Trotman, marketing manager at Folio, and Will Waller, director of Build to Rent at Arcadis. 

Over the course of the hour-long webinar, the assorted panel will also discuss how interaction, support and community engagement throughout lockdown has created enormous brand loyalty and ‘further raised the positive benefits of quality rented homes’. Furthermore, they will explore what lasting impact the crisis might have for Build to Rent products and the supply chain.

Financial support and tax advice for investors

Award-winning developer London Square – which recently joined forced with Clarion Housing Group on a £90 million site in West Croydon - is hosting a webinar on financial support available and tax advice for landlords, business owners and employees as a result of the impact of Covid-19. 

The webinar will be presented by buy-to-let and investment specialist Gladys Yow, director of Business Accounting & Taxation, and will cover the recent 2020 Budget as well as ongoing tax changes, information for landlords, the impact of Covid-19, and new measures in place for the self-employed, business owners and employees.

The impact of Covid-19 on the London property market

This Wednesday is a popular date for webinars, with London letting and estate agent Benham and Reeves also hosting a webinar on that day, alongside leading UK developer Barratt London. It will address the seismic effect the coronavirus has had on the capital's property market. 

The webinar will cover: 

- The impact of the pandemic on the UK and London market.

- Advice on buying, selling or letting your property during the pandemic.

- An analysis of previous global recessions and historic market performance and opportunity. 

- Investment opportunities in one of London's most sought-after areas. 

- The long-term outlook for London real estate.
