All about the brand new development

Various Jewellery Quarter landmarks including The Gothic Inn, Gothic Stores and the Gothic Works have been a part of The Gothic over the past 50 years.

It is known for the historic building that has features dating back as far as 1870. The developer is owned by Cordia Group, a company who are best known for their urban regeneration projects including the Corvin Quarter in Budapest.

Cordia Group has been able to retain and enhance the original Victorian-era features of the building, including traditional cornicing, beams, and windows.

Cordia Blackswan opted for an authentic appearance of The Gothic, with the windows replaced across the four buildings that make up phase one, while the original exterior features of the building have also been restored.

The half a century’s worth of paint has also been peeled aways to expose the original brickwork hiding underneath.

Marcus Hawley, managing director of Cordia Blackswan, said: “It is brilliant to see our long-awaited vision for The Gothic come to life, with works now complete on phase one. The creation of 14 elegant and unique apartments will meet the needs of modern residents who are looking for quirky high-quality living space in a prime city location.

“The offering at The Gothic does not stop at residential, we’re pleased to work alongside Griffley Property who are creating commercial spaces to let to local independent businesses to support the community and encourage investment back into Great Hampton Street. The Gothic forms a key part of our vision for the transformation of the street, to act as a local social hub in years to come.”
