Property of the week – would investors be tempted by this Portuguese villa?

In troubled times like this, we all need a little bit of escapism every now and again. And one popular form of escapism is searching for that dream holiday home abroad.  

For some investors, homes overseas may already be a reality. For first-time investors, meanwhile, the downtime forced upon us by lockdown has offered the chance to do some research and to decide once and for all if an investment property in foreign climes is the right strategy. 

Once things return to something resembling normal, it’s likely that popular tourist destinations such as Greece and Portugal will remain popular – even if it takes some time for visitors to return in their usual numbers.

Here, we return to the Iberian Peninsula’s smaller nation to check in on a special property in Quinta do Lago, a gated community and golf resort in Almancil, right in the heart of the Algarve. Quinta do Lago makes up one of the three corners of the Golden Triangle, comprising of the Algarve’s most affluent communities – and home to luxury golf resorts, bespoke shopping opportunities and Michelin-starred restaurants.  

The property, which viewers can explore through a 3D virtual tour and ‘gorgeous’ video footage, sits in arguably one of the finest locations within Quinta do Lago, with ‘unrivalled views’ out over both the San Lorenzo golf course and Ria Formosa nature reserve.
