Three police stations up for sale in Bond Wolfe auction

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale will feature three former police stations.

Put up for sale by West Midlands Police, the spacious properties in Birmingham and the Black Country are all freehold and are subject to planning permission.

Exhibit number one: located at 1 Crescent Road in Darlaston, this Victorian building used to be Darlaston Police Station and is guided at £250,000-plus.

The three-storey property of approximately 7,717 sq ft has offices and meeting rooms on the ground floor, including the original custody suite. There are more offices on the first and second floors, useful storage space in the basement and a gated rear yard with around 25 secure parking spaces.

Built back in 1899, the building has a range of ornate Victorian features and is nestled within a residential neighbourhood to the east of Darlaston town centre.

Exhibit number two: the former Handsworth West Police Station at 61-65 Holyhead Road in Handsworth has a guide price of £500,000-plus.

This lot is made up of a detached, two-storey 1930s building together with a pair of former semi-detached houses, which were recently used as extra offices and are connected on the first floor. There are garages and storage buildings to the rear of the property extending to approximately 6,446 sq ft.

The building is situated in an area that has a vibrant mix of retail, commercial, residential and educational uses, with excellent access to the city centre and the Midlands motorway network.

Exhibit number three: the former Tettenhall Police Station is located at 30 High Street, in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, with a guide price of £250,000-plus.

This lot is comprised of a two-storey, detached building containing offices and meeting rooms, with a separate store and garage at the rear, along with a gated yard for parking.

The property of approximately 2,282 sq ft is within the affluent suburban village of Tettenhall – around 2.5 miles north west of Wolverhampton city centre. It lies within an area of residential and retail uses, including Limes Court to the rear and Tettenhall College nearby.

All three properties will appear in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale on Tuesday 10 September at 10.30am, held at Aston Villa FC’s Holte Suite.

The auctioneer has offered 350 lots this year, including properties across the East and West Midlands and as far afield as Wales and Scotland. The first three auctions have raised nearly £39 million in sales.
