New luxury property development launched in La Plagne

Alpine property developer MGM French Properties is launching an exclusive new development in the popular family resort of La Plagne.

Located on the slopes, Residence Manaka will deliver a collection of 70 one to four-bedroom apartments, with 28 available for outright purchase ranging in size from 42-105m2.

Each apartment benefits from a private cellar, ski locker and parking space, while the balconies will offer elevated panoramic vistas of the surrounding valley and Mont Blanc. Prices start at €233,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.

The upscale development is just 300 metres from the centre of La Plagne – the main hub of the resort which consists of a community of 11 villages – and its rustic design takes inspiration from the local region, providing cosy, chalet-style interiors which feature a combination of bright white walls, wood panelling and stone floors.

Each bedroom also features wood panelling, wood parquet flooring and fitted wardrobes, while the open-plan living spaces feature a fully-equipped kitchen with granite worktops. The fully-fitted bathroom comes complete with granite vanity unit, heated towel rail, anti-fog mirror, large bathtub and integrated down lights.

The outright purchase properties are unfurnished, giving residents the opportunity to put their stamp on apartments. Leaseback properties come fully furnished, drawing on Alpine style.

La Plagne boasts an excellent atmosphere where children can experience the joy of learning to ski. The resort sits at an altitude of 2,000 metres with 225 kilometres of marked runs catering for all abilities, including 18 black, 33 red, 69 blue and 10 green.

The area is ideal for families, offering plenty of wide and gentle slopes. For experts, a challenging array of 1,000 metre descents and extensive off-pistes are available. The longest cross-border Funslope in Europe provides a series of jumps, obstacles and spiral turns.

As well as a variety of slopes to explore, La Plagne is part of the world’s second largest ski area, Paradiski, a playground with 435 kilometres of slopes. The double-decker cable car – the Vanoise Express – takes four minutes to travel to the neighbouring ski area of Les Arcs.

After a day on the slopes, skiers can relax in the integrated swimming pools, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Residents can also enjoy complimentary wellness and spa treatments at Residence Manaka.

Laurent Hallez, UK sales manager at MGM French Properties, comments: “This outstanding development is right on the slopes, with unrivalled views across the valley. La Plagne is at an altitude of 2,000 metres, making it very snow-sure. With ease of access to the whole of Paradiski, families can enjoy many years of exploring all the area has to offer. This is an exceptional opportunity for those looking for an Alpine retreat.”

La Plagne is also an attractive destination for those who enjoy the outdoors and mountains, with a host of activities available including: mountain bike trails, hiking through the hills and a variety of watersports during the summer season.

For the evening, La Plagne boasts a large selection of restaurants, serving traditional Savoyarde menus, with L’Atelier a local favourite. Meanwhile, La Refuge and Chez Marie are popular spots for lunch.
