About Me

26 years and counting - our family business is self-catering properties in the fantastic Cumbrian Lake District a honeypot location that keeps us on our toes. We look after and manage over 330 properties with over 275 individual owners.
Looking to invest in circa 20 - 30 BTL on SHT agreements - I'm interested in the rules of engagement, the legislation that everyone is constantly bickering about and wondering, is it so different to the legalities that surround self-catering.

With the support of our staff, we make sure all properties are up to date with current regulations - fire, gas safe, pat testing, periodic testing etc...
We service 10k weeks of holidays per year and pride ourselves in our professional approach to the industry, winning many industry awards as a result.

Hi Lee, Clearly, there are better locations than others. Are you able to share the best locations to buy property to maximise the return... how much does one have to spend to get a property that could achieve these figures. Are there plenty of people to look after property etc... (I look after 330 self-catering properties in the English Lake District) Very interested in finding out more about the market and how it works over there... I might even invest myself 👍🏼

An interesting article, Its worth noting that Sykes is not the only Holiday Letting Company out there... Our, multi-award winning family business, Heartofthelakes.co.uk, markets, lets, manages and services approx 10,000 weeks of holidays per year all located within the Lake District National Park. For the investors, we also run a find, buy and renovate service (no other company in the area does this) with 70% return trade and most properties returning 5%+, if set up right, after agency costs.
