Addept partners with Moorhouse on insurance product

Addept Insurance Services (Addept Insurance) and Moorhouse Group, part of Atec Group, have partnered on a dedicated rent guarantee and legal expenses insurance product for landlords with mixed and commercial property portfolios.

Addept has tailored its Rent Protect, rent guarantee and landlord legal expenses insurance solution to provide cover to Moorhouse’s portfolio landlords under its Property Owners insurance products, with the legal costs relating specifically to the individual let property, as well as the broader commercial risks a portfolio landlord may face. There is also the option to include rent protection for the residential risks within the landlord’s portfolio.

A reshaping of risks

Richard Finan, managing director of Addept Insurance, said: “Diversification and increasing company activity in the sector is reshaping the risks portfolio landlords face. We have partnered with Moorhouse, who are experts in insuring these more complex and diverse property portfolios, to provide protection extending beyond the traditional residential buy-to-let risks into blended and commercial portfolios.

“Rent guarantee insurance has never been more important and being able to adapt our solutions to meet the changing needs of specific customer groups is also an important move for us to be able to future-proof our distribution as the market shifts focus with more landlords holding mixed property investments.”
