A lively community centre with extra land in an inner city suburb of Birmingham is to be sold in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

The freehold property will have a guide price of £200,000+ in the livestreamed auction on Thursday March 26.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, explains that a grassroots group called Aspire & Succeed currently rents the community centre for £13,000 a year.

Aspire & Succeed was founded by local residents following the Lozells riots in 2005 as a community-led organisation focused on youth and community work, and after-school tuition.

The group’s website proudly states its commitment to “improve the lives of local people regardless of background through effective project work and community organising”.

Bassi says: “What we have here is a lively community centre plus external land extending to around 6,738 sq ft.

“The building includes a storage and warehousing area of about 1,033 sq ft, an office of around 516 sq ft and a kitchen of approximately 215 sq ft.

“The land outside also currently includes four car parking spaces for the community centre.

“The freehold property is let for £13,000 per annum on full repairing and insuring terms, and the sale will be subject to this existing tenancy.”

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
