A retail and office unit in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter will be up for sale in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, in just under a week’s time.
The property will have a guide price of £230,000+ in the livestreamed auction on Wednesday December 10.
Ian Tudor, commercial auction director at Bond Wolfe, says the unit is on a long leasehold and was considered suitable for a variety of alternative uses, subject to planning permission.
He comments: “This is an attractive, well-presented retail and office unit which is part of the Badge Works development in the Jewellery Quarter. The property has most recently been used for beauty treatments but would suit a variety of retail or office uses, subject to planning permission.”
The main retail and office space extends to 557 sq ft, with a fully fitted basement of 197 sq ft, including a staff room, kitchen and toilet, and a spiral staircase leading to 368 sq ft on a mezzanine floor.
The property lies in the heart of the city’s Jewellery Quarter, a short stroll from St Paul’s Square.
The Badge Works development dates from 2014, when the £1.45m scheme transformed a derelict Jewellery Quarter badge works into offices and homes.
The former W Reeves Badges plant, in Tenby Street, was turned into seven townhouses, with spaces to work, two offices and a penthouse. The long leasehold on 34 Tenby Street runs for 999 years from 1 January 2014, and includes an annual service charge of £1,804.17.
The Jewellery Quarter premises will be among 175 lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which is due to start at 8.30am on Wednesday December 10.
The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
