Agency Knight Frank has launched The Crofton, a collection of 40 contemporary one- to three-bedroom apartments in Orpington, Kent.

Built by boutique property developer Life Less Ordinary (LLO), this new residential block combines what Knight Frank calls “careful design with exceptional functionality in one of South-East London’s most connected locations.”

Specification highlights include bespoke fitted kitchens by premium German brand Hacker, elegant stone worktops and a range of integrated Bosch appliances. Bathrooms feature timeless terrazzo porcelain tiles, complemented by matt black brassware for a stylish look. Many of the apartments have gardens, balconies or terraces whist all residents will have access to an exclusive landscaped garden.

Rinay Chawda, director at Life Less Ordinary, says: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created at The Crofton. This development blends modern luxury with timeless architectural design, offering spacious, high-spec homes in the heart of Orpington. With excellent transport links, a vibrant local community and access to green space, The Crofton offers the best of both worlds: a refined, high-spec home in a well-connected and fast-rising location”

Positioned on Orpington High Street, The Crofton is part of the extensive investment and regeneration that the area is undergoing. The scheme will also deliver new retail space on the ground floor.

Sophie Davies, Partner in Knight Frank’s London New Homes, comments: “The Crofton arrives at a time when we’re seeing interest in well-connected locations like Orpington that offer exceptional value as an alternative to more central areas of London. The pandemic has permanently shifted many buyers’ priorities, with flexible working arrangements making locations like this increasingly attractive. We’re particularly excited about Orpington’s emergence as a lifestyle destination, with its blend of independent businesses, excellent schools and genuine community feel making it increasingly appealing to young professionals and families looking beyond traditional London hotspots.”

Located a 10-minute walk from Orpington Station, residents will be able to access central London with direct trains to London Bridge in 15 minutes, London Waterloo East in 20 minutes, and Charing Cross in 25 minutes.

Apartments at The Crofton start from £325,000 for one-bedroom homes, £400,000 for two-bedroom homes, and £540,000 for three-bedroom homes. The development is scheduled for completion in August 2025, with all apartments available with a 999-year leasehold, zero ground rent and low service charge.
