The wraps have come off two curved apartment buildings incorporating 264 new homes at the £112m Belgrave Village development in central Birmingham.

The 12-acre regeneration project is being delivered by Wavensmere Homes, in partnership with Galliard Homes and Apsley House Capital.

The two buildings are known as Blossom, which incorporates 125 homes over six storeys, and Bluebell, which rises to 11 storeys and has 139 homes.

A one-bedroom third floor 506 square foot apartment with a balcony is priced at £202,000. Remaining two-bedroom apartments range from £260,750 to £331,000. Priced from £400,000, the two- and three-storey family houses on the development benefit from air source heat pumps, and design features such as three-metre-high ceilings across each floor.

A Wavensmere Homes spokesperson says: “With three years of heavy construction work complete and all the new roads and pathways finished, Belgrave Village has taken the mantle of Birmingham’s smartest new residential community.

“The communal facilities are exceptional. Imagine enjoying the quality of an Everyman Cinema free of charge within a hop and skip of your own front door. The residents’ gym and co-working space are just as luxurious. Together with the beautifully planted landscaped areas, this development has been designed to encourage residents to make the most of the wonderful communal spaces and surroundings, while the buzz of the city centre is a stroll or bike ride away.

“We are thrilled with the interest and demand for the range of houses and apartments that remain for sale, many of which will be available to move into straight away.”

All homes have contemporary fitted kitchens with a range of integrated appliances. Bathroom suites are by Geberit with coordinating Bristan brassware. Flooring is provided as standard throughout each home, consisting of a mix of luxury vinyl tiling and fitted carpets.

For local journeys into the city’s business, shopping, and cultural quarters, cycling and E-scooters that are readily available for hire are the preferred methods of transport for most residents, although bus stops are positioned close to the new development. Moor Street station and New Street station are both around 1.5 miles away, offering frequent services across the UK rail network. Trains from New Street to London Euston take 63 minutes. The A4540 leads to the Aston Expressway (A38M) and provides easy access to the national motorway network.

The Belgrave Village site was previously Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College and Birmingham Sports Centre, but had lain derelict for 20 years. Headquartered in Edgbaston, Birmingham, Wavensmere Homes has close to 3,500 new homes either in production, or planning.
