Bond Wolfe’s first auction of 2025 recorded 89% sales from 160 lots under the hammer, raising over £21m.

The auction also raised £807,000 for Birmingham City Council with the sale of a string of properties and ground rents.

In total the auction raised £21,733,234 – and the company claims “nearly 900,000 people viewing lots” on its website in the run up to the auction. .

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, says: “This was an excellent result to start off another promising year for Bond Wolfe’s auctions. We are very pleased to have once again achieved good results for our auction clients, underlining the fact that the demand for solid assets such as bricks, mortar and land remains strong.”

Highlights on the day included a three-bedroomed end terrace house Oxford Gardens, Stafford, that achieved £110,000 from a guide price of just £39,000+; and a bidding war over a mid-terrace shop premises in Malvern, saw it eventually sell for £181,000 from a guide of £25,000.

Meanwhile, the ground rents on a pair of industrial units in Cato Street sold for £57,000 and £50,000 respectively, having each started the day listed at £20,000+.

Among scores of homes achieving strong sale results was a four-bedroomed semi-detached house in Brook Street, Bedworth, which sold for £210,000 from a guide price of £80,000.

Bassi continues: “These results see us on track to continue our growth and reach in 2025 and we look forward to expanding our client base as more sellers and institutions and local authorities increasingly appreciate the opportunity that our regular auctions provide to achieve significant results in a relatively short timescale.”

Bond Wolfe will hold a further six livestreamed auctions in 2025 on March 27, May 15, July 10, September 11, October 23 and December 10.
