Art deco features add to the attractions of a Walsall town centre office building with a £90,000+ price tag in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.
The office and shop premises of Jerome Chambers are being sold by Walsall Council. The property is in need of refurbishment throughout, but has potential for redevelopment.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive at Bond Wolfe, says: “Jerome Chambers sits in the heart of Walsall Town Centre. A three-storey terraced office building with shop premises on the ground floor, it occupies a prominent position on the southern side of Bridge Street.
“Like many buildings in Walsall it has attractive Art Deco features, including a distinctive front door and a trio of lion heads above the top floor windows. We are selling this vacant property on behalf of Walsall Council. It may be suitable for redevelopment, subject to planning permission.
“We would advise any interested parties to make their own enquiries with Walsall Council Planning Department to satisfy themselves of any future use they may propose.”
At present the ground floor is laid out with a hall, storage or server cupboard, a retail floor area, WC and a storage room with a wash hand basin.
On the first floor, off the landing, is an office, a meeting room, a store and a further office/work space. On the second floor are four more offices, a storeroom with wash hand basin and a male and female WCs.
Offers for the property may be considered before the auction.
Jerome Chambers will be among scores of lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday February 6.
Bond Wolfe has also been instructed on a further seven lots by Birmingham City Council which will appear in the upcoming auction.
Bassi says: “The lots we are offering in our February auction represent an interesting spread of properties from a former children’s home to residential properties, potential development land and ground rents on industrial properties.
“This is the first of seven auctions we will be holding online this year after a 2024 which saw our auction sales up 18.2% to £178,101,150. The signs are promising for 2025 and we expect the February auction to get us off to a cracking start.”
