A developer says Britons buying in Spain are hugely favouring the Costa del Sol – leaving its schemes in other parts of the country trailing.

Taylor Wimpey Espana says reserving homes with the company are choosing to do so in the Costa del Sol, rather than at the firm’s other developments on Mallorca and in the Costa Blanca.

“The Costa del Sol holds enormous appeal for British second home buyers and expats. It offers everything from relaxed beach life to vibrant cities, as well as outstanding golf courses and other recreational amenities that make the most of the outdoor lifestyle. It’s an easy region to fall in love with – as happens for so many of those who visit the Costa del Sol for their holidays and then find they want a deeper, longer-term connection with the area” says sales director Marc Pritchard.

Key-ready homes by the sea hold particular appeal for British buyers, he claims, with the firm’s current range of Costa del Sol properties ranging from €310,000 plus VAT upwards.

Its range includes lakeside penthouses at the Marbella Lake development, golf homes with sea and mountain views at Emerald Green, ‘A’-rated energy efficient homes at Almazara Hills at Istán, and properties at the appropriately-named Sunny Golf location overlooking Estepona golf course.
