The Vale do Lobo resort is a legendary location on Portugal’s Algarve that has existed since 1962 but is now refreshed by its new owners.

Located within 450-hectares of landscaped grounds, Vale do Lobo is considered a unique community and a place of outstanding natural beauty, fronting two kilometres of uninterrupted beachfront and the beautiful Ria Formosa Natural Park, encompassing 60km of canals, beaches, islands and marshlands.

Now it has undergone what it calls “a brand repositioning”, inspiring a new generation seeking the best of the Algarve lifestyle experience and inviting them to “create their own traditions”.

“Many of those who visit Vale do Lobo have been coming here for years – they are often the children and grandchildren of the original owners and holiday makers. As the resort continues to grow and evolve alongside them, also a new Vale do Lobo is emerging, driven by the ambition and vision of the new shareholders.  It is then time for a renewed look and feel, in keeping with the new real estate projects soon to be launched” says Alda Filipe, Vale do Lobo Board Member and Regional Director of Kronos Homes.

Famous for its two championship 18-hole golf courses, Vale do Lobo has grown over the decades to accommodate around 1,500 homes, used by a diverse international clientele as second homes, primary residences and investments. The resort is also home to a wealth of sporting, wellness, and leisure facilities, along with restaurants, cafes, and bars.

Vale do Lobo was acquired in late 2022 by investment funds advised by Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP and comprising operating partner Kronos Real Estate Group, as manager and developer for all residential real estate. As part of its new strategy, positioning, and ambition and for the first time in decades, a new off-plan mixed real estate product will be launched at Vale Real, supporting a new generation of discerning holidaymakers and property owners to cement their enduring relationship with the resort.

Recently, the resort made available a new selection of land plots in two areas – the coastal Oceano Clube, offering some of the last true beachfront land available in Portugal, and the verdant Vale Real, a spectacular oasis of greenery, with panoramic golf course views. Soon to be launched plots in Vale das Flores, close to the 8th hole of the famous Ocean Golf Course, will offer another opportunity to purchase land in a sought-after area of the resort.

A raft of changes and additions have already been implemented at Vale do Lobo.

Several golf course investments have been taking place. A new resort-managed Golf Shop is now open next to the Vale do Lobo Clubhouse. The store features carefully curated clothing and accessories from premium brands, ensuring that golfers at Vale do Lobo can always look and play their best.

The resort’s Tennis Academy has also been refreshed, with 12 tennis courts, six padel courts and mini tennis facilities welcoming players of all ages and abilities.

There’s also a new gym and a boutique specialising in tennis apparel and equipment. At the Academy and at the Praça, new Vale do Lobo-managed restaurants are due to open their doors over the coming months to expand the offering further.
