A PropTech start-up launched in 2017 to make property investment less clunky and more inclusive has announced the launch of its new property investment platform.

Brickowner, which aims to give users access to invest into professionally managed property in minutes rather than weeks, claims the new platform will provide the only existing end-to-end solution for property investors, fund managers and developers.

“We have streamlined the complex property investment and onboarding process to help democratise property investment and make funding more accessible,” Fred Bristol, Brickowner co-founder and chief executive, said.

“The launch of our new platform has further reduced the time to invest into a matter of minutes and broken down the barriers of onboarding investors.”

The launch of the new property investment platform comes after the team carried out research on its 4,000 platform investors. The research found a shift in investor expectations, with more wanting simple online access to property investments to carry out due diligence, invest, track and manage.

“Brickowner’s solution serves two different groups, investors and property professionals, including developers and fund managers. The first problem we are solving is the very inaccessible, time-consuming and expensive property investment process for investors,” Bristol adds.

“If you’re an investor in the UK right now, you will be facing average house prices of £360,000 according to Rightmove’s latest figures and a lack of stock on the market. Then you have the legal and administrative expense of acquisition and management cost and time. As an asset class, property is notoriously clunky, expensive, and illiquid. We wanted to find a way to overcome these pitfalls and give access to professionally managed property investment opportunities.”

Brickowner also says it is helping property fund managers and property developers overcome ‘legacy processes’ to access new sources of funding and manage their investors.

“Ongoing legislation changes have created barriers to onboard new investors and gain access to this source of funding for fund managers and property developers. Our solution provides an end-to-end solution for users to complete their KYC and AML checks and to manage investors,” Bristol explains.

“In order to build technology that lasts we build it around our platform investors and property client’s needs. That way it stays relevant and allows us to continually improve our technology and solve a problem. We are very excited about our latest platform launch and the impact it will have on the market.”

The Brickowner Property Investment Platform ‘democratises property investment’ by giving property investors access to professionally managed investment opportunities from £500.

The new investment platform includes features to manage and trade their investments from ‘one simple dashboard’. Self-certified investors can access investment opportunities including portfolios, developments, multiple projects, and property-backed portfolios across the residential and commercial sectors.
