A residential development site near Solihull with planning permission to build more than 200 homes has been bought for £1.8 million, thanks to property consultancy Siddall Jones.

The Birmingham property agents have arranged the purchase of Lyndon Place on the Coventry Road from the owners – Property Alliance Group Ltd – for a private client.

Bordering the Westley Brook Green Wedge, part of Sheldon Country Park, the prime development site sits in a designated Green Belt area and recognised Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation.

There is consent to convert an existing office block into 126 flats and to build two apartment blocks of between five and seven storeys that will contain another 85 apartments.

While these will be mostly one and two-bedroomed, there will be four larger ones with three bedrooms.

Ryan Lynch, associate director of Siddall Jones, says: “We are delighted to have acquired this site on behalf of our retained client. The scheme is well thought through and located near to Solihull, in an area where the demand for good quality residential stock is high.”

“We look forward to fruition of the scheme which is within easy commuting distance of Birmingham city centre, Birmingham International Airport and the national motorway network at Junction 4 of M42 motorway.”

All 211 new homes will benefit from attractive landscaping and more than 150 parking spaces between them, along with one bike storage space per home.

Edward Siddall-Jones, who completed the sale at the end of July, adds: “This demonstrates that even during the Covid-19 pandemic, developer appetite remains high.”

“We continue to have high demand for residential development sites either with, or subject to, residential planning.”

To register interest in any residential development sites in the area, contact Edward Siddall-Jones on 0121 638 0500, or email [email protected].
