Luxury property developer Andermatt Swiss Alps has launched two new exclusive residences to the market: Alma and Frame.

This marks the latest stage of the ambitious Alps development, which is believed to have attracted a total investment of around £1.5 billion.

Alma will feature 11 two and three-bedroom apartments over five floors. Apartments will feature all-natural materials combined with high-standard interiors.

The building’s facade, meanwhile, will be clad in dark, overlapping wood siding. Master bedrooms will feature free-standing tubs, while there will also be a common area and sauna on the ground floor.

Construction on Alma started earlier this month, with completion aimed for winter 2021/22.

Frame will consist of duplex studios and one-bedroom apartments, with Andermatt Swiss Alps saying it will be designed for ‘modern alpine living’.

The new residence is inspired by the ‘efficient precision’ of a Swiss Army Knife. Each unit is designed around a central multifunctional living structure, including bay windows, which aims to free up space.

Frame’s construction is well underway with apartments due to be ready for handover to owners in December 2021.

Buyers of units at either residence will benefit from exemptions from the Lex Koller law, which allows overseas investors in Switzerland to buy and sell property unhindered.

Andermatt Swiss Alps says its offering provides a ‘rare opportunity’ for international buyers to access the market.

The town of Andermatt is located in the Ursern Valley in the heat of the Swiss Alps, in close proximity to Zurich, Lucerne and Milan.

The resort offers quality skiing conditions late into the season, as well as a world-class 18-hole golf course for summer visitors.

The development has already seen 10 individually designed apartment houses built and two hotels completed – the five-star Chedi Andermatt and four-star Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen.

In total, there will be six new hotels, 42 apartment buildings totalling over 500 individual apartments and 25 exclusive chalets.

Property Investor Today has been tracking progress at Andermatt for a number of years now. You can read about its summer appeal here, as well as insight on how a major development can secure buy-in from the local community here.
