Simple Life, the provider of new build homes for the private rented sector, has developed 264 family homes in Rochdale after investing £35m in Greater Manchester.

The two, three and four-bedroom homes have been built by Countryside across four sites, transforming previously unused (brownfield) land.

Simple Life says the homes are ideal for young professionals and growing families who are seeking a rental property.

The company says residents will benefit from its ‘professional customer service and property management’ as it itself on creating a positive rental experience, ‘going above and beyond the norms of the rental housing sector’.

All Simple Life homes are ‘built and decorated to a high specification’, with modern, grey carpets and bright white walls, as well as fully-fitted kitchens, including fridge-freezers, washing machines and washer-dryers installed in every property.

“We’re excited about our new Rochdale sites which are all in easy commuting distance from Manchester city centre and its host of retail and leisure facilities,” Alec Maullin, project manager for Simple Life, said.

“The sites are all situated within three miles of 21 outstanding or good-rated primary schools, and in easy reach of hospitals and local amenities.”

He added: “Our customers are from all stages of life and can expect plenty of opportunity to get to know one another through regular community events on our developments, including fun get-togethers like Easter egg hunts for the children and pizza nights to name just a few.”

Donna Bowler, strategic housing manager at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to see the first properties becoming available as Countryside’s previous developments have proved to be very popular in the local community. Rochdale is committed to improving standards in the private rented sector and these homes will be a welcome addition to our housing offer.”

With climate issues now so heightened in the nation’s consciousness, Simple Life – like many other developers and housebuilders – has an ambitious Corporate Responsibility Programme, working with developers to lower its carbon footprint by paying particular attention to the construction and subsequent management of its properties.

In addition, it says it’s committed to various initiatives to improve the environment and reduce waste. It planted more than 1,000 trees across all developments in 2019 and is installing White Rose Clothes Banks across all apartment schemes, as well as carrying fundraising work and providing customers with branded shopping bags and reusable branded flasks.

The four Rochdale sites, Norwich Green, Brookside Grange, Rochwood Rise and Harewood Close, are now available for viewing.

Simple Life is taking applications and show home viewings are available. For more information on the Rochdale Simple Life developments, you can visit: www.simplelifehomes.co.uk/rochdale4 or call 0345 319 4074.
