The latest £1 house auction heads to Yorkshire

Bidding for a three-bedroom South Yorkshire house will start at less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

Located at 75 Deightonby Street, Rotherham, 563 0HZ, the property is being marketed by Mark Jenkinson & Son Auctioneer and is in need of repair after being severely fire damaged in October 2018.

The fire started from the house next door and, while this one goes to auction, the neighbouring property will be possibly restored or offered on the market in the near future.

Those with building and renovation experience looking for new investment could benefit from this starting bid as there is no council tax to pay due to the property’s current condition.

The owner, Vikesh Samani of Synergy Capital Investments Limited, comments: “We initially wanted to restore the property but, in the end, we decided that it would be best to sell it. We spoke with Property Saviour, a cash house buying company in Leeds and they suggested that we may be better off selling it at auction.”

The semi-detached property comes complete with freehold and can be occupied, rented or sold. It boasts off-road parking and a garden at the rear, and amenities include shops and two primary schools that are within walking distance.

“This could be a great project for someone looking for an investment. It could also appeal to owner-occupiers who wish to end up with a mortgage-free home,” Mr Samani adds.

The property is being sold with £1 opening bid and with no reserve price, and buyers can bid in person or over the phone. Those interested in attending the sale will need a photo ID along with a utility bill for proof of address and a debit card for payment.

The auction takes place on Tuesday October 22 at Sheffield United Football Club from 2pm. To download the application form please visit Mark Jenkinson & Son website at www.markjenkinson.co.uk/auctions/ or contact 0114 276 0151.
