New events offer top tips on how to be a holiday let landlord

Mulberry Cottages has announced the expansion this autumn of its free ‘Holiday Let Masterclasses’ for prospective buyers across the South of England.

With the holiday let market in England currently thriving – according to Visit Britain, there were a total of two million self-catering rental stays across England between January and March 2019 – the masterclasses have been designed to teach the tricks of the trade to those considering a holiday let as an investment opportunity.

Owners will gain ‘valuable knowledge and insights’ from the boutique letting agency’s experts in the series of two and a half hour long masterclasses, focusing on how to run a successful holiday let and covering everything from marketplace trends to practical must-dos.

The events, which are free of charge, will be held at a number of thriving Mulberry Cottages properties, providing attendees with the added benefit of being able to view successful holiday lets in action.

The masterclasses will take place at the following venues throughout September and October:

Kent – 10am – 12:30pm or 2pm – 4:30pm on 10th September 2019 at Customs House, Faversham

Sussex 10am – 12:30pm or 2pm – 4:30pm  on 17th September 2019 at The Mission House, Warninglid

Cotswolds – 10am – 12:30pm or 2pm – 4:30pm on 3rd October 2019 at The Dairy, near Chipping Norton

Dorset – 10am – 12:30pm or 2pm – 4:30pm  on 15th October 2019 at The Gate House, Wimborne Minster

Hampshire – 10am – 12:30pm or 2pm – 4:30pm on 16th October 2019 at Roegate House, Romsey

“Our first holiday let masterclass was a huge success, we saw attendees travel from across the UK to join us. Due to its popularity, we are launching a series of more intimate, round table masterclasses across the South of England to give prospective owners an opportunity to learn from the experts,” Rebekah England, head of property at Mulberry Cottages, said. “Attendees will gain the best advice on how to run a successful holiday let and witness real life owner stories.”

She added: “This year we have seen a huge demand for UK staycations with a 25% increase in bookings at the start of 2019, compared to 2018, proving that now is a fantastic time to let your property to holidaymakers.”

Mulberry Cottages has over 600 handpicked, self-catering properties in England, ranging from countryside manor houses and chocolate box cottages to city centre apartments and beachside retreats, more than half of which are pet friendly.

Limited spaces are on offer for the events. You can register on EventBrite or by calling 01227 806315. Alternatively, you can email owners@mulberrycottages.com.

Earlier this year Mulberry ran two events in Hampshire and the Cotswolds to give prospective owners an insight into how to effectively run a holiday let, with would-be holiday let landlords given the opportunity to learn some of the tricks of the trade through talks and workshops with industry experts. It ran its first ever ‘Holiday Let Masterclass’ in 2018.
