Family homes in Birmingham with £20k guide price on sale at auction

Family-sized homes across Birmingham with guide prices starting as low as £20,000 will be the highlight at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale on Wednesday 11 December.

While the average house in the UK costs over £230,000, first-time buyers will be excited to see the range of decent properties with guide prices well under £100,000.

One of them is a three-bedroomed mid-terrace at 13 Pelham Road in Alum Rock with a guide price of just £20,000-plus. It boasts a hall, reception room and kitchen downstairs, with bedrooms, bathroom and toilet upstairs, as well as gas-fired central heating, double-glazing and small front and back gardens.

Another highlight is a five-bedroomed, three-storey house at 62 Lansdowne Road in Handsworth, with a guide price of £24,000-£29,000. This end-terrace stands back from the road behind a neat front garden and has three reception rooms downstairs, three bedrooms on the first floor and another two bedrooms on the second floor.

“These are both great little bargains that could be ideal as the first-owned home for a family with children, or for landlords seeking to increase their portfolio,” Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, says.

For those wanting a quieter life away from the inner city, there’s a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 164 Reservoir Road in the suburb of Selly Oak, with a guide price of £29,000-£34,000. It has a driveway, good-sized front and back gardens, central heating and double-glazing – situated close to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Birmingham.

Across the city in Great Barr is a detached three-bedroomed house at 55 Sandringham Road for a remarkably low guide price of £99,000-plus. In need of modernisation, this property boasts a driveway, garage, front and back gardens and a conservatory, presenting a great opportunity for a growing family.

Another bargain lies in Sheldon, where a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 220 Church Road has a guide price of £25,000-plus. This property has decent-sized garden, central heating and double-glazing, but is said to need renovations.

These dwellings are just five of 164 lots that will be offered on December 11 at one of the largest property auctions in the Midlands.

Bond Wolfe Auctions, which launched in January this year, has so far sold 503 lots out of 592 offered and raised over £66.2 million with an average success rate of 85%.
