Over £30 million traded on Property Partner marketplace

Property investment platform Property Partner has announced that its investors have traded over £30 million in shares of residential, student and commercial property on its marketplace, representing nearly 38% of the £80 million equity raised.

The firm allows investors to buy shares in properties, which can then be offered to other investors through their resale market at a price the seller chooses.

In January 2018, Property Partner was granted the first multilateral trading facility (MTF) licence, issued by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to a crowdfunding platform under the EU’s markets in financial instruments directive (MiFID II) regulations.

Marshall King, chief executive officer of Property Partner, commented: “Investing in property is usually a long-term commitment, but it’s clear many of our investors have taken the opportunity to trade their property shares thanks to our MTF.”

“The average trading time for sold shares stands today at around 4 days, whereas selling an entire property would take an investor several months. We’re excited about making the property asset class more liquid than ever.”

Over 13,000 people have invested in property through Property Partner since its launch. The platform now manages over 900 tenanted units valued at over £133 million.
