Bond Wolfe Auctions will feature 140 lots at its next sale, making it one of the largest auctions in the Midlands this year.

Competition is likely to be fierce among the bidders for five properties in particular, each with the opportunity to renovate and modernise.

A two-bedroomed end-of-terrace house at 71 Chapel Street, Pensnett, is in need of some renovation but offers a shower room/WC upstairs, a kitchen, reception room and cellar downstairs, gas-fired central heating and UPVC double glazing.

Located just a couple of miles from the Merry Hill Shopping Centre at Brierley Hill, the property stands flush to the pavement at the front and has a garden at the rear – also in need of some work. It has a guide price of just £20,000-plus.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, comments: “This small house needs some tender love and renovation, but its guide price will make it a popular lot for investors looking for rental properties or young couples looking for their first home who are prepared for a DIY project.”

Other bargains likely to be attractive at auction include a three-bedroom semi-detached house at 635 Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, with a guide price of £34,000-£39,000. Again, it is in need of modernisation but offers a front and rear garden, a side garage and driveway.

Just north of Wolverhampton, in the attractive village of Codsall, lies a two-bedroom semi-detached house up for auction with a guide price of just £25,000-plus. The home, at 36 Green Lane Avenue, features a paved driveway area at the front and a long garden at the rear, as well as gas-fired central heating, double glazing and an attic room.

A four-bedroomed semi-detached house at 53 New Road, Netherton, has a guide price of £29,000-£34,000, while a two-bedroomed end-terraced house at 48 Wordsworth Avenue in Tipton has a guide price of £9,000-£14,000.

Meanwhile, a two-bedroomed mid-terraced house at 9 Pound Road, Wednesbury, is another modernisation project with a guide price of £24,000-£29,000.

Bassi adds: “These are just five examples of properties with attractive guide prices that reflect they need modernisation. They are likely to result in fierce bidding from buyers keen on investment projects.”

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale takes place on Tuesday 10 September from 10:30am at the regular venue of the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC.

This year, so far, the auctioneer has already offered 350 lots – more than any other auctioneer in Birmingham. This includes properties across the East and West Midlands and as far afield as Wales and Scotland. The first three auctions have raised nearly £39 million in sales.
