MGM French Properties is adding an additional chalet to a luxury ski residence located at the entrance of the Champagny-en-Vanoise resort, Les Alpages de Champagny.

The new chalet comprises two to five-bedroom apartments which will provide ‘cosy accommodation’, ‘stunning views’ and exclusive access to the private pool and facilities next door – building on the popularity of the original development.

The intimate collection of 13 apartments are available for outright purchase and start from €305,000.

Following the recent boom in new developments in the French Alps, Les Alpages de Champagny is built to epitomise the rustic Alpine charm. Inside, apartments are designed and finished to the highest standard, featuring stone and wood parquet flooring, pine doors, granite worktops and walls completed in wood or a bright white finish.

The sitting rooms boast floor-to-ceiling bay windows which lead onto large, private balconies where views of the valley and Vanoise Glaciers can be enjoyed. Kitchens come fully-fitted with the latest appliances and bedrooms are completed with large built-in wardrobes, while bathrooms include vanity units with basin and mirror.

Each apartment also comes with a private storage cellar, a ski locker and a private car parking space. Additionally, the units are securely accessed by a digicode system which aims to ensure both security and ease for owners who are looking to rent out their apartments during the ski season.

Known as one of the Alps’ best kept secrets, Champagny-en-Vanoise is situated in a scenic wooded area at the entrance to the Vanoise National Park. The traditional mountain village has an altitude of 1,250 metres and excellent access to the La Plagne/Paradiski ski area – perfect for skiers wanting an authentic setting.

Champagny-en-Vanoise is one of 10 ski resorts of La Plagne skiing domain, comprising 135 marked runs spanning 225 kilometres of terrain, which can be accessed via the Champagny gondola lift from the village. This includes a variety of beginner-friendly slopes such as 10 green and 71 blue runs. Intermediate and experienced skiers can enjoy 34 red and 19 black pistes as well as cross-country terrain and a dedicated snow park for showing off tricks.

Other activities in the resort include children’s sleighing, dog sleighing, guided snow-shoeing, horse riding and ice skating, which are available during the ski season. For thrill seekers, the Olympic bobsleigh run boasts 1,500 metres and 19 bends. Visitors can choose between four ‘thrill’ levels which reach speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour.

There are also a number of activities on offer in the summer months, such as a variety of walks, hiking trails through the resort’s valleys and mountains, and fishing. The Champagny gondola stays open in the summer, meaning altitudes of 1,970 metres can be reached year-round.

Meanwhile, cycle enthusiasts can benefit from cycle-tourism that is organised on its road as well as mountain biking options. The Vanoise region is also home to a range of extreme outdoor activities such as quad driving, rock climbing, canyoning, white water rafting and paragliding.

Champagny’s town has a selection of local amenities, including grocery shops, bakery, deli, gift shops and clothing stores, sports shops, ski hire and a cinema with regular English screenings. There are several ski school options available and an independent childcare centre.

“The expansion of Les Alpages de Champagny is a testament to its popularity and success as a leaseback development,” Richard Deans, sales manager at MGM French Properties, comments. “The new apartments open up a special opportunity for more customers to purchase outright and enjoy a world-class ski resort.”

“Residents will benefit quick access to the slopes with a free navette bus between the residence and gondola lift which is one kilometre away. They will also enjoy the fantastic facilities including swimming pool and sauna, providing the perfect place to relax and unwind in after a long day skiing.”

The prices for each apartment are as follows:

Two-bedroom apartments from €305,000-€345,000 TTC

Three-bedroom apartments from €344,000-€455,000 TTC

Four-bedroom apartments from €495,000 TTC
