Allsop’s May residential auction catalogue goes live

Allsop’s next residential auction will feature over 300 lots, with 30 high-value lots guided at £1 million-plus included in the live catalogue.

The range of possible investments is expansive, from lot 225, a six-bedroom Grade II listed country house with stables in Surrey Hills guided at £2.6-£2.8 million, to lot 208, a two-acre site adjoining the former Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore with planning consent for a three-storey Hollywood mansion-sized house of more than 18,000 sq ft.

There will also be six lots with permitted development at the auction, including lot 73, the highest value lot in the catalogue. The two-storey office building in Aylesbury spans 37,793 sq ft and has consent to provide 89 self-contained flats.

Allsop will also offer a portfolio of 48 sites located across the UK on behalf of The Co-operative Bank, with each site to be offered as a single lot (151) with no reserve. In Wellingborough, a detached building comprising 36 flats and currently generating £234,900 per annum (lot 218) is guided at £4.1 million-plus. The same seller will also put lot 143, a freehold building of 10 apartments in Leicestershire, up for grabs – generating £90,540 per annum and guided at £1.5 million-plus.

Residential buildings in prime locations will also be offered at the auction, including lot 62, a four-bedroom end of terrace house in Chelsea. Having recently been refurbished, the property is guided at £4 million-plus. Another four-bedroom semi-detached property in Twickenham (lot 49) is being sold by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) with a guide price of £525,000-plus.

Richard Adamson, Allsop partner and auctioneer, said that sellers have a sense of ‘renewed confidence’ and are now looking to the auction room to sell before the summer slowdown begins.

He added: “We anticipate that the catalogue will be very well received by the market given the number of high quality lots on offer.”

The residential auction will take place on May 31 at The Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London, W1H 7DL.
