BidX1 launches second UK online auction catalogue

Online auction house, BidX1, has launched its second catalogue, with 40 lots consisting of residential and commercial listings throughout the UK.

The auction, which opened for bids on April 26, follows the success of BidX1’s March launch into the UK market, with the catalogue (of 67 lots) comprising retail and commercial properties across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

This also follows the acquisition of London-based auctioneer Andrews & Robertson as part of BidX1’s ‘omni-channel’ strategy.

The most desired lots are expected to be in London; one being a substantial mid-terrace residential building in Camberwell including two self-contained flats. The property has conversion potential into a family residence and carries a guide price of £825,000 - £855,000.

Another highlight is a two-bedroom apartment in a waterfront block adjacent to Canary Wharf. The property – which has direct river views from all rooms and situated in the award-winning building, New Providence Wharf – has a guide price of £595,000 - £635,000.

Outside of the capital, a portfolio of 11 houses in Middlesbrough are available in individual lots and building on the March auction’s success of properties offered in Northern Ireland, a further 16 properties from the region are available in the April sale.

“We have received a plethora of top quality instructions since the inaugural online auction and continue to go from strength to strength in the UK market,” said Stephen McCarthy, founder of BidX1.

“The success of last month’s launch shows the appetite for the transparency and efficiency that the online model provides. As we continue to disrupt the traditional auction model we expect to see further success with the high quality lots we are bringing to market.”

BidX1’s online auction operates alongside the Andrews & Robertson in-house auction business – its last 75-lot auction took place on April 19 at The Montcalm Hotel, Marble Arch, London. This merge aims to unite the best of new technology with traditional sales techniques.

McCarthy added: “Looking at our future endeavours, we are incredibly excited to become the leading platform for online auctions house in the United Kingdom.”
