A new tool has been launched with the aim of enabling homeowners and investors to quickly calculate the cost of building an extension on a property.

The free service, which comes from Plus Rooms, is in calculator form and users simply choose their property type, desired extension/conversion type and roof type to be provided with a quote.

Once the information has been provided, the tool calculates the cost which includes an estimate of all building work as well as plumbing, electricity, glazing and external doors.

“[Our] 3D costed models make it straightforward for the homeowner or buyer to see what they would get – and budget for the project,” says James Bernard, director of Plus Rooms.

“[The] prices are based on what we would charge for the works, rather than an estimated market price, so people can have confidence in the costs we are providing.”

You can use the extension tool on the Plus Rooms website here.
