A home insurance provider has launched a Landlord of the Year Award to recognise those who go the extra mile to hone their services for tenants across the country.

HomeProtect, in partnership with Property Investor Today’s sister publication Landlord Today, has embarked on a mission to find the UK’s best landlord.

The inaugural Landlord of the Year Award will ‘seek to champion all UK landlords who choose to break the perceived mould, strive never to cut corners and deliver the best quality service possible when every aspect of the profession is considered’.

With over 5 million privately rented homes in the UK – and a prediction that 25% of all homes will be privately rented by 2025 – this part of the property market is becoming bigger and more influential than it has ever been. Taking that into account, HomeProtect believe it’s more important than ever to celebrate those landlords who provide an exceptional service to their tenants.

To help decide the winner, tenants and lodgers will be invited to nominate their favourite landlord by answering a short series of questions to highlight why they feel their particular landlord stands out from the completion.

“Landlords often get a bad rap, but there are many out there who do a fantastic job for their tenants, and we want to highlight and commend them,” Mark Eastham, chief executive of HomeProtect, said.

“On behalf of HomeProtect, I can say we are very excited to start our search and can’t wait to receive the first nominations.”

The awards are open to all UK landlords who rent a home to tenants. To nominate a deserving landlord for the Landlord of the Year Awards 2018, please visit www.landlordawards.com.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Saturday 31 March, allowing a panel of judges from HomeProtect and Landlord Today to study a 10-person shortlist, before announcing the overall winner on Monday 16 April. Full terms and conditions can be found at https://www.landlordawards.com/about-us/.
