A new competition offering the chance to win a one-bedroom apartment in Bracknell has been launched by Uri Geller and Equinox Living.

Geller – a self-proclaimed psychic, illusionist, television personality and well-known spoon bender – has teamed up with developer Equinox Living to give the general public the opportunity to win a home.

Winaflat.net, which gives participants (paying just £5) the chance to win a new-build home worth £210,000 by correctly answering questions on the local Bracknell area, runs until July 31 2018, with 10% of net proceeds being handed to Land Charity.

There are no limits placed on how many times one person can enter and any adult with a UK residency is eligible to participate. The competition takes the form of ‘a game of skill’, testing participants on their knowledge of Bracknell’s new £240m town centre, which resides just a stone’s throw away from the new development where the home is situated.

Geller, who appeared on the first ever series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and is a former co-chairman of Exeter City, will unveil the random selection of the winner in a live video, streamed via the winaflat.net website. Once the winner has been announced, the successful entrant will be able to move into their new home in the Abbey House development as soon as it is completed later this year.

The development – made up of 40 apartments targeted at first-time buyers and buy-to-let investors – is located in Grenville Place and sits right on the doorstep of Bracknell’s new shopping district, which has helped to transform and regenerate an area that has long been a popular commuter hub for Londoners.

“The housing market is in need of initiatives that can help kick start activity and we are proud to be the first developer launching a competition of this nature, which is designed to provide a life-changing opportunity to win a high specification new build home,” Darius Ziatabari, co-founder of Equinox Living, said.

Uri Geller himself added: “I wish everyone who enters good luck and can’t wait to introduce the winner of the Equinox Living apartment. It is exciting to be involved with this competition, which is the first of its kind for a new development. Come summer, one lucky winner will have a brand new flat to call their own.”

Equinox Living says that, should it not reach its target number of entries, the net funds raised will be awarded to the winner as an alternative prize, to still help increase their chances of getting on the property ladder.
