A three-bedroom home was the latest successful property sale by Pattinson Auction, selling for nearly triple the starting bid.

Located in Alnwick, Northumberland, the terraced property had a starting bid of £59,950, with the property eventually selling for £175,000.

The seller described the auction as an ‘eye opener’, stating: “I could not believe the way the bids just climbed beyond my expectations. I hope the new owners will be as happy in the property as I have been in the last 48 years.”

Based in the North East, Pattinson brings over 25 years of experience auctioning property, conducting live and online auctions nationwide. The auction house continues to see successful results, with an extensive network of agent partners across the country.

Justin Beckwith, auction director at Pattinson Auction, said that this sale is a ‘shining example’ of why sellers should consider selling via online auction.

He added: “A reserve price can always be set, meaning you need never sell your property for less than you would like to.”

According to the auction house, auctions are becoming one of the fastest and cheapest ways of selling property, and can prove to be just as lucrative.
