Lagan Building Contractors has started work on a £35m contract for Outwood Developments to build the first phase of its Outwood Wharf development in Salford.

Stage one of Outwood Wharf will consist of 263 apartments and townhouses. It forms part of a wider £125m investment in developing approximately 600 residential units over the next four years.

The development, which was given outline planning consent early last year, will see purpose-built flats set within a cluster of blocks ranging from six to 18 storeys in height.

Outwood Wharf will top out at 53m at its highest point and also feature townhouses and underground parking.

Jon Adams, managing director at Lagan Building Contractors, said: “Phase one of Outwood Wharf is an anchor project for Lagan Building Contractors to demonstrate its intent in the North-west to strategically and organically grow its business from its newly established regional office in Manchester.”
