Student utilities service provider Glide has launched a Risk Free Bills Inclusive Package, the first of its kind in the industry.
Inclusive bills – where bills are included in the monthly rental payment – have become increasingly popular with tenants over the last few years.
However, as more landlords offer inclusive rates, they run the risk of receiving a bill themselves at the end of the year for tenant excessive use.
Glide says it has therefore launched its new risk free range in order to give landlords and letting agents managing shared rental households greater peace of mind.
Users of the package allow Glide to take complete control of usage to ensure tenants don’t exceed the terms of the agreement.
In the rare event of over use, Glide will bill the tenants directly, omitting the need for landlords and letting agents to get involved and removing any uncertainty.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, Glide claims to be the first company in the UK to deliver complete utility packages to landlords and agents of shared households.
It provides them with one single bill to cover all utilities across their entire portfolio, making it easier for them to offer all-inclusive rates to their tenants.
“Landlords and letting agents are under increasing pressure to offer attractive deals to students looking for greater financial stability,” says Richard Price, Glide’s Business Development Director.
“However, in talking to our customers, we sometimes find nervousness to commit to inclusive rates for fear of over use, which can result in unwanted bills at the end of the year. We have years of experience in dealing with student properties and understanding usage habits, and as such we have 100% confidence in our billing plans.”
He says that due to this confidence, Glide is putting its money where its mouth is and offering landlords the risk free deal.
Customers signing up to the new Glide Risk Free Bills Inclusive package will receive a monthly payment plan, based on their individual portfolio and circumstances.
There is no charge to landlords or letting agents for excessive use, and if less energy is used, the landlord will receive a cheque at the end of the year for the difference.
