Free property exhibition in Bournemouth set to draw in the crowds

The Bournemouth and Poole Landlord Exhibition being held at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) in October this year is expected to draw over 600 current and prospective landlords from all over the region.

The event, now in its eight year, is being run by Poole and Bournemouth Councils in conjunction with Seventa Events. It is hoped that both landlords and potential landlords will be given the tools required to take full advantage of area’s thriving private rented sector, as well as being an important opportunity for the Councils’ to network with local landlords and encourage good working practices.

Devised in consultation with local landlords, the event will host a specially created seminar programme offering the most sought-after practical advice to allow visitors to develop and improve their professional landlord skills. Information on the market, investment opportunities, financial management, legal issues, how to become a landlord and the responsibilities involved will all be available at various seminars and exhibitions stands.

In addition, tips will be provided to landlords on how to make best use of the latest technologies available.

“The event has seen phenomenal growth over the past eight years and is now one of the UK's biggest and foremost landlord exhibitions,” Simon Brooks, Director at Seventa Events, said.

“With Bournemouth and Poole Councils working together, the event will not only have an increased reach and participation but will also fully support landlords who have properties across Bournemouth and Poole. Given the growth of this year's event the exhibition will also provide a wealth of networking opportunities to all landlords and prospective landlords in attendance.”

Councillor Robert Lawton, Cabinet member for Housing, Bournemouth Borough Council, added: “Every year this event becomes more and more popular. The event is a fantastic opportunity for local landlords to come together to share best practice and keep up to speed with the latest advice on letting a home and in turn improve the standard of rental accommodation for our residents.”

Cllr Karen Rampton, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Housing and Community Safety, Borough of Poole, also commented: “Working closely with landlords helps us to ensure that accommodation offered to our residents is of a high standard,” she said. “I hope that many current and prospective landlords will come along to take advantage of the support and advice on offer.”
