RESIDENTS can enjoy a cocktail or two at an exclusive development in Dubai which is the ‘first residential building’ in the city to be granted an alcohol licence.
Mercer House is located in the prestigious Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) which offers a selection of luxury apartments starting from less than £800,000 (3,664,503.20) in one of the most desirable areas of the city.
Asad Khan, CEO of Invest Dubai Real Estate (IDRE), the brokership who is handling the sales of the apartments including the £6million (30,654,828,00 dirams) plus penthouse, describes the development as ‘offering an unmatched living experience, combining luxury, convenience, and exclusivity in one of Dubai’s most sought-after locations’.
A standout feature is Mercer House’s 45,000 sq. ft. private beach club that allows residents to enjoy a resort-style atmosphere with the added benefit of an alcohol license. In Islam, under Sharia Law, consuming alcohol is prohibited in public spaces.
Drinking alcohol is legal in Dubai if an establishment has a valid alcohol license or an individual license is granted to consume alcoholic beverages in a private place. However, Mercer House is the first residential building in Dubai to be given this ‘extraordinary privilege’.
Mr Khan said: “Islamic laws generally restrict public consumption of alcohol, so this is an extraordinary privilege in Dubai. This is rare and exceptional amenity at Mercer House means residents can indulge at their leisure in a private, sophisticated setting, which will make it particularly appealing to European and American buyers who value this lifestyle.
“Beyond the beach club, Mercer House further elevates its offering with six to eight premium hospitality venues within the building itself, including upscale restaurants, stylish cafes, and vibrant social spaces.”
Each apartment in Mercer House is crafted with modern interiors, spacious layouts, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering ‘breathtaking’ views of the surrounding lakes and city skyline according to the brochure.
The property developer state that the development is ‘equipped with world-class amenities’ including retail shops, a multi-sports complex, resident-access family and skyline pools, state-of-the art fitness studios and spa rooms, ensuring the ‘finest lifestyle for all residents’. Mr Khan says the development offers so much that residents will never want to leave.
Mr Khan added: “These thoughtfully curated dining and leisure options provide residents with unparalleled convenience, allowing them to enjoy world-class food and entertainment without ever leaving their community. Whether it’s enjoying a coffee with friends, a family dinner, or entertaining guests with drinks by the beach, Mercer House redefines luxury living by delivering an exceptional blend of comfort, leisure, and exclusivity, creating a highly desirable lifestyle for residents and an ideal opportunity for investors.”
Residential prices in Dubai are expected to see price hike of between five and 10 per cent in 2025 according to industry leaders. There will be supply constraints in some areas, but property developers are continuing to ramp up construction efforts to meet demand.
