Who are you and what does it say on your business card? 

I’m Robin Edwards and I’m managing partner at Curetons.

What is Curetons and what does it do? 

Curetons Property Finders, we’re a London-based property buying agent, mainly dealing in high-end residential property.

What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents? 

Curetons is a property search agent, dedicated to helping clients find the right properties quickly, efficiently and at the best possible price. We work closely with estate and letting agents by sourcing properties for buyers and renters who may not have the time or expertise to navigate the market themselves. Our relationships with agents ensure they can match properties to serious buyers faster, helping them close deals with the minimal of hassle.

What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?  

What makes Curetons different is our deep market knowledge and proactive approach. Instead of waiting for the right property to appear, we actively search on behalf of our clients, leveraging off-market opportunities and our industry leading connections to find clients exactly what they are looking for. This benefits agents by bringing them serious and motivated buyers who are ready to proceed, making transactions smoother and more efficient.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special? 

One of my greatest achievements at Curetons has been building a reputation for trust and transparency within the industry. We’ve cultivated long-term relationships with clients who not only come back to us, but also recommend us to others. This is special because it reinforces our core values and shows that we’re making a real positive impact in people’s lives.

What is the most satisfying part of your job? 

The most satisfying part of my job is finding and securing the perfect properties for our clients. Every property transaction is different and being a trusted part of that journey is what makes my work so fulfilling. Many former clients have become good friends and we have gone on to work with them and their extended families again and again.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing estate and letting agents at the moment? 

One of the biggest challenges is adapting to changing regulations while maintaining a high levels of service. The UK property market is increasingly governed by new rules and compliance standards which can be resource-intensive to navigate. At the same time we’re facing economic uncertainties and shifting client expectations. Balancing these pressures while staying innovative and client-focused is a challenge, but one we embrace at Curetons.

What is your property prediction for the next 12 months? 

I expect the property market to remain steady, with modest price corrections in some areas due to higher interest rates. However demand for sensibly priced, well-presented turnkey properties will continue to grow. Rental demand will likely remain high, given the affordability challenges in the sales market, so landlords will need to focus on compliance and quality to stay competitive.

I predict house prices, particularly in London, are going to broadly plateau. I think interest rates have peaked and this will ease mortgage affordability rates slightly and further stabilise prices. Many potential buyers are staying in the rental market longer, which is driving up rental prices. This trend is likely to continue, keeping demand high for rental properties and pushing landlords to maintain their portfolios, rather than sell.

Limited new housing supply is likely to keep prices from dropping significantly, even with softened demand. Despite the cost-of-living crisis and affordability challenges, the underlying shortage of homes in the UK creates a floor for price declines. The rental market will likely stay competitive and expensive, driven by limited rental stock and high demand.

Country house or city apartment? 

City apartment. Although I grew up in the countryside on my parent’s farm in North Shropshire, I’ve been living in London nearly 25 years now. I still love visiting the countryside every so often, but after any more than a week I get bored and miss the hustle and bustle of the city too much.

Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden? 

Traditional English garden, but preferably in the city.

Would you rather be a free-moving tenant or settled owner occupier? 

Definitely a settled owner occupier, there’s nothing quite like owning your own home.

What is your favourite room in your home? 

A toss up between the kitchen and the living room, I love to cook and eat, but in the rare time I’m not working I do like to relax at home and curl up on the sofa and watch TV or read a good book.

Homes under the Hammer or Location, Location, Location? 

Location, Location, Location – the first TV programme that really showed the public the job of a property buying agent and what we do. I’m a big Phil and Kirstie fan, the OG buying agents.
