How long has The Resort Group been trading?

We are in our tenth year of trading.

Why did you choose Cape Verde as the location for your developments?

For the availability of beach front land, the great climate, security and that it is a politically stable country with the potential of strong economic growth. In addition, the Cape Verdean people are very friendly and there is a high demand for tourism and airlift.

Is The Resort Group likely to develop resorts in any other countries in the future?

Yes, we are actually looking at other locations at the moment, particularly in the Canary Islands and the Caribbean.  

Why should investors be attracted to The Resort Group's developments?

The Resort Group develops quality touristic developments that are designed from the initial concept to attract quality and high volume tourism, which in turn will generate positive income streams that will yield a good return on investment.

What is the biggest challenge facing the property investment industry at the moment?

Regulation.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

Completing MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa given its sheer size and the cost along with the number of different items that required consideration against logistical challenges, and alterations and the various amendments throughout the build program.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Being able to make decisions without too much outside interference.

What is your property investment prediction for the remainder of 2016?

I believe that, as long as the location is correct and the type of property investment is correct, there is the possibility to receive good capital returns on property investment. My only advice would be to do extensive due diligence on the company you are buying from.

In the UK I would say house, but abroad I would say apartment.
