Foxtons, the London-based sales and lettings agency, has announced its new membership with The London Rental Standard (LRS) scheme.

A voluntary set of standards aimed at encouraging higher standards within the private rented sector, the initiative was brought to fruition by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson. The LRS has also been designed to offer tenants the added comfort that they are renting from a professional agent who will comply with all the necessary legislation. This includes, amongst other things, deposit protection and safety certificates.

As membership to the LRS is based on existing accreditation with a selection of industry recognised schemes, Foxtons has taken steps to ensure each of its 51 offices are now fully accredited, with all Lettings Managers now National Approved Lettings Scheme (NALS) qualified.

“We work to the highest of standards and have been a voluntary member of the key governing bodies for many years helping to raise standards within the industry,” Lori Thompson, Director of Customer Service and Compliance, said.
