Simply Business are an online insurance broker, currently insuring over 250,000 people and businesses throughout the UK.

Q: How long have Simply Business been trading?

For just over 8 years now as Simply Business, since specialising in business and landlord insurance.

Q: How did it all start?

The company was originally a financial services company, offering numerous finance related products. The insurance side really took off, becoming the main focus and Simply Business was born.

Q: Why choose Simply Business?

At Simply Business we believe we can make buying insurance less complicated. For most people arranging insurance is not the most exciting thing to do, so if we can make it less complicated, perfectly tailored and affordable, we’ll have done our job.

Q: What are your three unique selling points?

·         Insurance tailored to your needs.

·         Easy to buy; you can be insured in minutes.

·         Instant documentation, once the purchase is complete.

Q: Who do you currently work with?

We have a great panel of insurers including companies like Axa and Zurich. Most importantly though, we actively work with our community; you can always engage with us on Twitter, Google+ and Facebook, through the website or over the phone.

Q: How do you overcome your competitors?

We don’t want to replicate our competitors because we don’t believe they always deliver the best product for the customer. The insurance products at Simply Business have been developed over time, always with the customer in mind.

We also have a great in-house development team who have created our insurance platform from scratch and are constantly looking to improve it.

Q: How do you create value for your clients (how do you go above the call of duty)?

We are very active when it comes to supporting our customers. This isn’t just insurance related, we look to engage and assist our community in many ways with articles, interviews and information on matters of interest. Here are some examples from the last few months:

Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?

There are many things that could qualify as this, but for me, the fact that we’ve developed a brand new platform in house and feel it’s as good as any out there tops the list. However without a doubt the best is still to come; we have some truly grand plans for 2014, so watch this space…

Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?

We feel the insurance industry is pretty flat, full of lots of companies doing the same things in similar ways and other than the advent of the internet; nothing has really changed for many, many years now. This model may work for some, but we believe real success will be found in shaking things up. We don’t want to been seen as the ‘necessary evil’ that insurance is often perceived as; we have a unique offering, with some great technology and a vibrant engaged community – the foundations of something really new and exciting, hopefully changing insurance for the better.

Q: Are you offering any special promotions?

We work very hard on pricing and believe our offering is as good as any out there. Half the value in an insurance product is behind the scenes and you only find out about it if you need to claim. We believe that our products not only provide great value and peace of mind immediately, if you do need to claim you’ll find the experience as smooth and stress free as it possibly can be.
